Oh how beautiful, enna! How precious that you were there to witness the living beings of singers, of song, of soul maintaining their integrity. How blessed we are to "have" you, enna, to share a glimpse into the human path in Russia. Trembling in anticipation
This is perfect. I can sense the depth of your story already, To start with such a profound example of the basic truth - that we are all just frequencies in space, interconnected and not separate- fills me with great anticipation for the book. Thank you!
Welcome back and wow what a prologue I can’t wait to read it. I feel those soul sound beings coming back through your words, like a nourishing meal. Have missed your presence here on Substack.
Hooray! wonderful to "hear"from you and looking forward to reading and experiencing Russia through your incredible voice. I've missed you, thank you for the Prologue.
Yah!!! The prologue is a treat thank you Enna, and the imminent book an absolute vital delivery of the whole Human mystery: Who are we really and how have the Russians lived the hard hidden truth to that question? Super excited to read it and even more super excited for the ensuing volumes. Well doing indeed.
I, among all the others, eagerly await the birth of Matushka. So far she is sounding intriguing.
I will eagerly await and now you’ve got me wanting to search up to hear these beautiful Russian songs. Can’t wait to hear more from you soon, much love x
Alas, the song mentioned in the text is nowhere to be found on the internet - actually I believe none of the really potent ones can be found, for 'good' reason. There are plenty of Russian folk singers, solo or groups, on youtube, and they sound very nice - fabulous voices, harmonies and soulful songs - but they are heavily sanitized compared to the old grannies from whom they learnt the songs. Tons of recordings in the vaults of ethnological institutions in Russia, but I hear they are being kept under careless conditions, old tapes rotting. I hope somebody is salvaging what can be reproduced, although digital will never convey what analog or the live humans sounded like.
русские народные песни - type that in youtube, it'll give you way more material (it means 'Russian folk songs')
